About
In the early 1960’s at my Grandma’s home in Southern Virginia, I found my first arrowhead. My Dad, Luther, was then an active member of the Maryland Archaelogical Society and I learned early in life the joy of finding artifacts in the plowed fields of Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.
My interest in restoring artifacts began over 30 years ago after finding so many beautiful broken points. I’ve developed my own techniques and mixtures of real stone that are carefully applied to the broken sections with no damage to the ancient artifact. I then carefully match the flaking patterns and colors of the original stone, in order to blend with the patina. It has NEVER been my intention to pass off a restored artifact as whole. Therefore, I developed a Certificate of Restoration with before and after images of each artifact. A restored artifact can never match the importance or value of a complete relic, but it’s a great way to obtain rare displayable artifacts for a fraction of the cost.
